As part of Unete’s ongoing efforts to bring needed services to our community, we will be hosting the Mexican Consulate on July 30 and 31.  The mobile Consulate offers services to Mexican Nationals in rural areas of the state.  The Consulate realizes that for many of their citizens, travel to Portland is difficult and have developed mobile offices that provide the most requested services, those of aquiring Mexican passsports and Consular identification cards.

Another important service they offer is nationalizing children born to Mexican parents in the United States.  This is an important step for many families as it ensures that children will carry on their Mexican citizenship which us such  a source of pride for many.  It also permits children to study and receive medical services in Mexico as well as enter without a visa.   The process is a simple one and the only cost incurred is that of printing the new birth certificate.

Unete is proud to be part of this important service to the community!!   Check out this link to an article in the Mail Tribune.   http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20110710/NEWS/107100324&cid=sitesearch
